Our shop initially began as an offshoot of a favorite pastime- kite flying. This love of kite flying and the lack of local retailers, gave birth to Alaska’s premier kite shop- Northwind Kites, Inc. We opened the store in June of 1999. The store is filled with wind novelties of all kinds. We have kites designed for all skill levels- beginners to expert. We also carry a variety of windsocks, banners, wind chimes and flying toys. In November of 1994 we expanded our store to feature, games, puzzles, magic and juggling supplies. Since then we have continued to grow, expanding into what we are today, an eclectic collection of recreational diversions and various forms of entertainment for all ages.
